A Few of my Favorite Things (a very few...)

Shall we start at the beginning? I mean, I don't really now how to put them in order. So...earliest? Yes.

Ahhhh. Mary Poppins. How can you not love Mary Poppins? A cheery disposition, she is never cross. Rosy cheeks? Obviously. Plays games, all sorts. The children find them extremely diverting. Kind. She is kind, but extremely firm. Witty, very sweet, fairly pretty. Takes you on outings, gives you treats. Sings songs and brings sweets. Never cross or cruel, never gives castor oil or gruel. Loves you as a son or daughter, and never smells of barley water (is that beer?)

Oh my gosh!!! I could watch Miss Hannigan over and over and over again. The rest of the movie is great...but she is the best! One of my favorite quotes? "She hadda go baffroom" If you haven't seen her in a while, give it a watch. You can buy Annie at Walmart for $10 or less. I might just have to search youtube for a clip. Stay tuned.

Ren and Stimpy. Didn't they have some grossness on their shows? I particularly loved the episode when they pretended to be babies. I also love the horse..."No sir, I don't like it." And, if you search youtube, you can find a clip from the episode when they were rubber nipple salesmen. You know...the kind you use on a bottle? Geez, get your mind out of the gutter. I can say that I don't enjoy them as much now as I did when I was a teenager. I would never EVER let my kids watch. For shame!

The Legend of Zelda. I was introduced to Link with the Windwaker game. SO fun. That's the first picture, for you don't-knows. The second photo is from Twilight Princess. Also a very fun game. More action, since you play it on the Wii and you have to wave the controller like a sword to fight the bad guys. Awesome. I love adventure games, most of all this one. Link is SO cute and my boys want to be him. Especially that one I call Link. (and btw it's totally awesome that my boys know I'm the best Zelda player in the house, can bail any one of them out of a tough spot, beat all the bosses and win the game. Their mom is SO COOL!!)

I hate to say it, but if you don't get a kick out of Spongebob...I can't help you. He and Bessy Higgenbottom (see below) would get along quite well, actually. Yes, Spongebob. I also love Gary. A meowing snail? Come on! Who wouldn't think that's adorable and funny? I love the episode when Gary runs away because SB was so obsessed with the paddleball he got in the mail. Also the time he reads the bad words on the side of the dumpster and Patrick tells him they are "Sentence Enhancers."

Ok, no. They don't say bad words. Every time it would be a bad word, you hear animal sounds and boat horns instead. I also love the Campfire Song and The Friend Song.

Have you met Bessy Higgenbottom? Bessy is SO funny! Bessy is a totally spastic weirdo girl. She talks constantly and has a fabulous lisp, accentuated by the two front teeth she's missing, 9 3/4 years old. She only has 4,500 and some Honeybee badges to go. She believes she's a superhero and a rockstar and everything else she can imagine. My favorite episodes? Booster Shot. I've tried to find you a clip, you gize (can I do that spelling, Landee?) but I can't find the part of the episode that is the funniest...when the nurse tells her that she needs one and her face totally falls into utter horror, unable to breath or put together a proper sentence. I also love the episode when 'Finger' gets injured during her attempt to get the Origami badge. Finger gets put in a splint and bandage. But in the night....Fingere' appears, (on the other hand) little mustache and all.

Oh....am I rambling? Give it a try. You might just like it! And yes, I am such a child. My kids love it when we watch these and I'm laughing right along with them. There are more. Oh yes. I will toss in a few here and there from time to time.

Btw, still hate the word blog. But, loving the action of blogging. Thanks for the lesson Landee!!!!
